BPA Members Headed for Nationals Two juniors will be representing Comfrey School at the National Business Professionals of America (BPA) in New York, New York, in May. Wesley Davis and Jody Hanson placed third and fifth respectively in Fundamental Accounting at the State Competition held at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis March 8 & 9, 2007. Davis and Hanson along with Jamie Sulflow are accounting students and members of BPA. The three earned their way to State by placing at the Region 8 competition back in January. Their advisor, Donna Krueger, helped them prepare after school for the competition. They are excellent accounting students, but Krueger figured there would be accounting for corporations on the test, and the accounting class is just beginning that section of the text. The students worked hard to learn the new material. Davis and Hanson’s hard work paid off as they now anxiously wait for the time when they can compete with students throughout the United States. Krueger feels they have a good chance at placing at Nationals. |
